Commemorative Memorials

Pendle Council working in conjunction with the British Legion commissioned DP structures to design and build a commemorative war memorial . The brief was to design a fitting memorial to the servicemen who had lost their lives, but also to create a key architectural feature within the newly created Market Square in Nelson town centre.

The chosen design for the memorial was contemporary in style. It is fashioned in sandstone with stainless steel encased glass panels, which illuminate at night. It has been designed with a structural steel skeleton.
