Tree guards, Tree Grilles & Paving Trays

DP Structures design bespoke tree guards to complement a palette of other street furniture. Pendle Council commissioned DP Structures to design and manufacture a practical, but stylish tree guard, with an integral tree grille. The tree guards have been manufactured in 316 stainless steel – some with a polished finish, others with an abrased matt grey finish.

The tree grille design has been specifically designed to allow irrigation whilst protecting the roots. It takes the form of a tray, within which paviours are set.

Problems

• Access to rootball
• Water to rootball

Solutions

• Stainless trays that can be removed from the base frame for access
• A series of holes in the tray allowing water through to the rootball
• An air gap around the edge of the base frame allowing air to the rootball to provent moulding
